Cleopatra, who was the last queen to reign in Ancient Egypt, sat on the throne in the royal city of Alexandria during the 4th century. There was a chain of tidal waves that were caused by earthquakes and the region was covered in water. It quickly became a lost city and was never recovered until 1996!
